Dr. Kathryn Reif is an assistant professor in the Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. A primary focus of Dr. Reif’s research program is bovine anaplasmosis. The Reif Laboratory frequently works with producers and other stakeholders to evaluate efficacy of different anaplasmosis treatment and control strategies against the various strains of Anaplasma marginale circulating in the U.S. In addition to anaplasmosis, the Reif Laboratory is broadly interested in ticks and tick-borne pathogens of veterinary and public health importance, with extensive experience conducting tick-borne pathogen transmission studies in large and small animals.
