Jacob Hagenmaier was raised on his family’s Kansas Flint Hills cattle operation, where they remain involved in the beef industry —  from cow/calf to retaining ownership of custom-fed cattle finished in Kansas and Nebraska. He received his B.S. in Animal Science at Kansas State University and remained at KSU to pursue a  DVM/Ph.D. program in the College of Veterinary Medicine. His research focused on the mobility and stress physiology of fed cattle at the time of shipment for harvest. Upon completion of his DVM/Ph.D. in 2016, Jacob accepted an R&D position at Elanco. Jacob transitioned into his current role as a technical consultant for Elanco’s Beef Business Unit in April 2017. Jacob is based out of Amarillo, TX, where his primary focus is the feedyard segment. His responsibilities include conducting post-approval research, providing technical product support, and delivering custom analytics to feedyards and their consulting veterinarians.
