Behind feed costs, replacement heifers are typically the second largest expenditure for U.S. dairy farms.  Common practice is to look at health incidence, average daily gain and genetics as the ‘go to’ barometers for future economic viability. Yet, research and new best practices say we’re missing something.

Join Diamond V Veterinarian and Ruminant Technical Specialist, Dr. Todd Birkle, to gain insights into replacement heifer strategies.  Dr. Birkle will share research and recommendations for determining high-quality replacement heifers and creating an action plan for stronger herd success.

The webinar will cover:

  • Life Stage Inventory Assessment
  • Advanced Heifer Culling
  • Breeding Strategies: Decrease Risk and Increase Reward
  • Culling Criteria and Milk Production

Don’t miss this information session regarding new insights into better evaluating replacement heifer programs to increase future profitability on the dairy.
